[clamav-win32] mixing use of clamscan and clamdscan

I use ClamAV for Win32 and I have two separate needs:

(1) Frequent 1-file-at-a-time checks (often overlapping... so when I say 1-file-at-a-time, I mean that clamdscan is called via a command line with each incoming file)

(2) occasionally checks of hundreds of files, all in one command line

Both of these occur on the same computer and during the same time that the occassional mass-checking is done the frequent checks are continuing to happen

I'm thinking that for occassional checking of hundreds of files in one command, there is little gained by using clamdscan, right? And this is especially true in my situation since this particular mass checks are not particularly "time sensitive".

However my frequent 1-at-a-time checks, these DO require the fastest possible return time so clamdscan makes sense because using clamd and not having to reload definitions really helps speed things up in that situation.

Therefore, my question is, can I run those mass-checks against clamscan and would this ever interfer with clamd? Is it ok to run clamdscan and clamscan at the same time?

Also, might this sometimes speed things up for the frequent checks if the clamd didn't ever have to deal with the large mass-checks slowing it down or overloading it's queue?

Thanks!
