[Clamav-devel] ASN.1 questions

Hi

I am new to this mailing list so I hope it is the right one. If not please
advise me where to ask.

I am trying to make sense of the libclamav
<http://192.168.93.132:8080/source/xref/clamav-0.98.7/libclamav/>/asn1.h/.c
files.
I am wondering if this is what is used for parsing certificates in signed
Windows PE files. Otherwise what's its purpose? Also, what does "mscat"
stand for in the source code as used in asn1_load_mscat() and
asn1_check_mscat() functions' names?
