You can always edit long lines by hand to escape newlines, \
so that you make the real line breaks clear, but it's error\ 
prone.

Better not to do that on a mailing list.  Some lists scrub attachments
anyway; and list users' mail filters (and their owners) might get picky.
Better to place the file on a server somewhere and post a link to it.
