[clamav-users] clamav with amavisd question

Dear Clamav users,

My mail server is using amavisd with clamav, the linux version of the 
server is centos 6.5 (not the latest).

So, on the server, amavisd and clamd services are started.
Recently, I noticed another service "clamd.amavisd"
Must I start also this service ? What clamd.amavisd is dedicated to ?


I am used to update clamav with freshclam( through cron), but posix 
rights are frequently changed after freshclam on 
/var/log/clamav/clamd.log file
# service clamd restart
Stopping Clam AntiVirus Daemon:                            [  OK ]
Starting Clam AntiVirus Daemon: ERROR: Can't open 
/var/log/clamav/clamd.log in append mode (check permissions!).
ERROR: Can't initialize the internal logger
[ÉCHOUÉ]

I have to retablish posix permissions manually on 
/var/log/clamav/clamd.log in order to restart clamd :
# cd /var/log/clamav/
# ll
-rw-r--r-- 1 clam   clam       0  3 avril 03:28 clamd.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 clamav clamav  3384  5 avril 04:10 freshclam.log
# chown clamav:clamav clamd.log
# service clamd restart
Stopping Clam AntiVirus Daemon: [ÉCHOUÉ]
Starting Clam AntiVirus Daemon:                            [  OK ]

I do not understand what process changes the posix attributes ; I 
checked /etc/freshclam.conf (DatabaseOwner clamav) and /etc/clamd.conf 
(User clamav).
On /etc/passwd, I noticed 2 lines for clamav :
#  cat /etc/passwd | grep "amavis\|clamav"
*clamav:x:495:489:Clam Anti Virus Checker:/var/clamav:/sbin/nologin*
amavis:x:494:488:Amavis email scan user:/var/amavis:/bin/sh
*clam:x:491:484:Clam Anti Virus Checker:/var/lib/clamav:/sbin/nologin*


May someone help ?
