[clamav-users] Another submission of the JavaScript virus

Since it’s the weekend again you probably won’t hear from the Team any time soon, so I’ll tell you what I can.

I realize there were issues with many submissions last weekend, but in another discussion we were told:

Normally you won’t hear back concerning a submission on the user list. You need to be subscribed to the clamav-virusdb list in order to receive an e-mail notification that your sample has been dealt with. Then you will need to look in the archives or in your e-mail for the daily:xxxxxx that was released at about the same time as your e-mail and search for your name. You will either see the signature that was added or a “No”.

The only time you would need to bring up a submission on this list is if you feel it has a major impact on you or many other users. It would also be appropriate if a couple of weeks or more have gone by without receiving any notification.

As Joel mentioned to you earlier, they “receive millions of samples a day” so it may be some time before they can get to yours.
