Yes, but exactly this is the way to go:

add 3 lines in mm_cfg.py
  DEFAULT_SUBJECT_PREFIX  = ""
  DEFAULT_MSG_HEADER = ""
  DEFAULT_MSG_FOOTER = ""

It's simply a matter of doing it.
