common sense?

you want your network and shares free from any malware and that a 
mac-user which can't execute the infected file placed it on a share 
where a wdinws user double clicks is nothing someone want to happen

besides that 90% if not more of the clamav installations are running on 
mailgateways and proxies in front of all sort of users
