[clamav-users] Failed to load new database: Malformed database

Since June 15th we haven't been able to download a version of the 
database that our installation will take. We're using the RHEL provided 
version 0.98.7. We are getting the following for every freshclam run:

-> ERROR: Failed to load new database: Malformed database
-> ERROR: During database load : ERROR: Failed to load new database: 
Malformed database
-> WARNING: Database load exited with status 55
-> ERROR: Failed to load new database

We also went to clamav.net and manually downloaded the current database 
files:

http://database.clamav.net/main.cvd
http://database.clamav.net/daily.cvd
http://database.clamav.net/bytecode.cvd

Trying to load them into clamd resulted in:

-> Reading databases from /var/lib/clamav
-> ERROR: reload db failed: Malformed database
-> Terminating because of a fatal error.
-> Pid file removed.
-> --- Stopped at Fri Jun 16 09:45:06 2017
-> Socket file removed.
