frankly even if it would say "clamav-0.99.3 Recommended version: 0.99.4" 
the DON'T PANIC applies because when you ue LTS distributions it#s 
pretty common that the version of many packages don't change but 
security related and critical fixes are backported

the PHP 5.4 of RHEL/CentOS as example is not just a plain, never updated 
PHP 5.4
