Then you can simply send the scan output to a log, as in my example:

>> clamdscan /path/to/directory_to_be_scanned/ | logger -t 'ClamAV'

You can pipe the output from clamdscan through filters if you wish,
for example:

clamdscan /.../ | grep '\(Time\|Infected\)' | tee ... | logger ...
