[clamav-users] Scanning emails

I am new to this list. Can you tell me if clamd / clamdscan will scan 
email attachments as well as the email file. I am using it to scan all 
incoming email messages before passing on for delivery.

I have clamd running under linux.

clamdscan <email file>.
