Please explain why you think this is needed.

For something like ClamAV I would generally recommend installing from
source if it's possible.  There's a section on Redhat and CentOS in
the ClamAV documentation:

Did you try it?  If so what problems did you find?

For CentOS 6 there's also a ClamAV EPEL repository:

https://centos.pkgs.org/6/epel-x86_64/clamav-0.100.3-1.el6.x86_64.rpm.html

Did you try that?  Again, if so, did you have problems with it?
