You are right, I have UpdateLogFile /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log and
that is working. 

BUT, like Arien, I also have:
LogSyslog yes
LogFacility LOG_MAIL

I also upgrade yesterday about 4PM EDT and there are no syslog entries
for freshclam in my maillog after the upgrade.
