Seriously, I have no idea of what your end goal is?
If you don’t want to do nightly scans, there is fswatch: https://github.com/emcrisostomo/fswatch
It’s a trigger for on-access scanning for OSX and various other POSIX systems.

You can always run a cron job as well for nightly scans, which it sounds like you were doing for windows, but it needs to be installed somewhere, and have file access.
